Hockey Lessons

Pre-Hockey: Ages 6 & Up
Pre-hockey is designed for boys & girls interested in learning the basic skating skills required to advance onto the Cross-Ice Hockey program & organized team play. Prospective skaters must be able to skate across the ice on their own, prior to enrollment. Hockey helmet with face mask & gloves are required by the fourth class.

Mini-'AX Cross Ice Hockey
Mini-Ax is the bridge program between Hockey Learn to Skate & the Midwest Maniax Youth Hockey Program. Cross Ice hockey is a 2 day a week program and is based on a  model of practicing and playing across the width of the ice rather than the length. By shrinking the playing surface, the Cross-Ice Model allows for  players to increase speed in playing situations, all of which translates into quicker development of individual skills necessary to keep young players excited and motivated. Classes will be divided based on age & skill level. USA Hockey Registration & full ice hockey equipment is required.

Power Skate/Goalie Clinic
Power skate will focus on developing proper agility & speed. The class will cover straight line acceleration, backward skating, and tight turns, as well as forward and backward crossovers. The goalie clinic will stress proper stance, form, angles, speed, agility & recovery.

Adult Hockey Clinic:Ages 15 & Up
Adult LTP class is ideal for anyone interested in learning the game of ice hockey. Proper skating, stick handling, passing, and shooting skills will be emphasized in each class. Each class consists of 45-60 minutes of skill development drills & 30-45 minutes of scrimmage time.
