Parkour is the discipline of self development through the Art of Movement where a practitioner aims to be strong mentally, physically, and spiritually in order to master one's own movements.
- Parkour is known as Freerunning, or the Art of Displacement/Movement.
- Parkour is uncompetitive.
- Freerunning requires constant, methodocial and focused training as well as a desire to have fun and develops one's self.
- To ensure safety and keeping the movement fun, practitioners aim for a well-rounded training module: Strength, Endurance, Balance, Creativity, Fluidity, Power, Spatial Awareness and Vision.
- Practitioners aim for perfection. Dont expect to get the movements immediately. As a practitioner continues on their path of self development, the vision that comes with experience constantly expands and pushes one's movements to new horizons. This is the discipline which carries inherent risk, patience is key. It takes years to master these movements.
- Art du Deplacement training reflects a practitioner's deeper desires. Many of the universal qualities practitioners emulate are humility, camaraderie, selflessness, training for longevity, and a respect for peop;le and environment. Parkour discourages reckless behavior, showing off, and generally dangerous, meaningless stunts.
